We are led by John Harrigan, PhD. John has over 25 years of experience in higher education as a professor of communication, primarily as the chairperson of the Communication Department at SUNY Erie.
He is the recipient of the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Harrigan is a former faculty member of the Project Zero Summer Institute in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. He is the textbook author of “Welcome to the Mansion: An Introductory Guide to the Study of Rhetoric.” John was also awarded a NEA Foundation Grant in Learning and Leadership. John has also taught internationally as a visiting professor in Singapore. Dr. Harrigan is currently on staff at Florida Gulf Coast University and has most recently been nominated as a Fulbright Specialist in Communication and Education.
Additionally, John is an award winning filmmaker, photographer and storyteller. He has trained at Second City Improvisational Theatre, hosted a music appreciation podcast, and has traveled extensively, all while being a practitioner of Tai Chi. These endeavors have been learning experiences that have informed his approach to education.
Our fundamental objective remains consistent: improve lives through a clear, effective, and practical understanding of communication. We believe in problem solving through productive and strategic communication. We endeavor to impart these principles to all of our clients and the institutions they represent.
